Hiroshi NAKAZAWA
Catalytic C-C bond cleavage of acetonitrile and C-Si bond formation have been attained in the photoreaction of MeCN with HSiEt3 in the presence of CpFe(CO)2Me to give Et3SiCN and CH4. The mechanism of the catalytic cycle has been proposed. Addition of aldehyde or ketone to the reaction mixture mentioned above containing Et3SiCN affored cyanohydrine silyl ether, where silylcyanation of aldehyde or ketone took place. CpFe(CO)(SiEt3) is proposed to be a catalyst for C-C bond cleavage of MeCN and concomitant Si-C bond formation and also for Si-C bond cleavage in silylcyanation.
