Some methods for the fixation of several silicon atoms on a line were tried for construction of a unique framework by taking advantage of the highly coordinated organosilicon compounds. Although synthesis of the construction of hexacoordinated disilanes by use of b-diketonate ligands failed, the construction of pentacoordinated disiloxanes was successfully synthesized by taking advantage of 2-(phenylazo)phenyl groups. The photoisomerization of the azo groups caused the photoswitching of the coordination number of the silicon atoms. Reduction of the silane bearing two Martin ligands have been carried out successfully to give a hydrosilicate.
